The Jacksonville facility grew out of the oldest of the USNR family of companies, the Moore Dry Kiln Company, which was founded by civil war veteran Lafayette Moore in 1879. From 1914 until 2015 the Moore Dry Kiln Company and subsequently USNR, manufactured lumber dry kilns, plywood veneer dryers, sawmill machinery, and other industrial products at a site close to downtown. In early 2016 a new state of the art manufacturing complex was opened at a new location, and is now equipped to support the majority of USNR's broad product line, both with new equipment and replacement parts.
